McCormick appoints a new chief digital officer

McCormick & Company has announced the appointment of Guy Peri as chief information and digital officer.

In this global role, Peri will oversee the company’s digital transformation strategy and enterprise information technology, reporting directly to McCormick’s president and CEO, Brendan Foley.

Peri brings three decades of experience in digital strategy, with expertise in:

  • Data
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Cloud technologies
  • Information security
  • Enterprise transformation

He previously served as Procter & Gamble’s (P&G) first chief data and analytics officer and, most recently, as chief information officer for P&G’s Health Care sector. In these roles, he led initiatives integrating data and digital strategies, predictive analytics platforms, and advanced technology solutions into consumer experiences, retail operations, supply chain processes, and product innovation.

Peri’s record includes developing high-performing teams and driving digital capabilities to deliver measurable business outcomes. His leadership at McCormick is expected to further enhance the company’s digital and technological capabilities on a global scale.

With annual sales of $6.5 billion, McCormick manufactures, markets, and distributes spices, seasonings, condiments, and other flavoring products. Some of the company’s most popular brands include McCormick, French’s, Frank’s RedHot, Stubb’s, Old Bay, Lawry’s, Zatarain’s, Ducros, Vahiné, Cholula, Schwartz, Kamis, DaQiao, Club House, Aeroplane, Gourmet Garden, FONA, and Giotti.

In April, McCormick signed an agreement with technology company Cognizant to transform and manage the McCormick’s global technology infrastructure.

Under the five-year deal, Cognizant will deploy AI-driven tools to enhance IT operations, improve service productivity, and provide cost savings while delivering self-service capabilities to McCormick’s 13,000 employees across 80 global sites. The partnership aims to accelerate McCormick’s digital transformation and improve user experience, the company says.

Cognizant is a provider of consulting, information technology, and business process outsourcing services.
