Samsung Galaxy users in the U.S. can now shop directly from their lock screens, following the launch of Glance AI, a new generative AI-powered shopping experience developed in partnership with Glance, the Google-backed consumer tech firm.
The tool represents an original approach to virtual try-ons. Instead of browsing for specific items, users can upload a selfie or choose a photo from their gallery, and Glance AI will display hyper-realistic images of them wearing curated outfits. The experience is designed to spark inspiration and discovery — showing users styles they might not otherwise consider.
Glance AI launches on Samsung phones
Glance AI is rolling out as both an opt-in lock screen feature and a standalone app, reaching an estimated 50 million Galaxy devices across the U.S. With a single tap, users can purchase outfits featured in their personalized images. They can also save or share their stylized looks. The platform currently features products from more than 400 brand partners.
The launch is supported by a $200 million investment from Glance, which is leveraging Google’s Gemini AI and Imagen image-generation technology to power its recommendations and visuals. That $200 million will help develop Glance’s AI and generative AI technology stacks.
“This is about making every glance at your phone meaningful,” said Naveen Tewari, founder and CEO of Glance and parent company InMobi. “We’re helping people visualize what’s possible for them—starting with fashion.”
Jason Shim, senior director of the Samsung Galaxy Store U.S., called the collaboration “a milestone in mobile innovation,” highlighting its integration of shopping, content, and AI-driven personalization.
The launch comes amid a broader push in mobile commerce to use generative AI to streamline the path from inspiration to purchase. Glance AI also factors in real-time trends and social media activity to keep recommendations current.
For both companies, the rollout signals a growing bet on turning idle screen time into commerce opportunities — driven by AI and embedded directly into the daily user experience.
