How Graybar is approaching AI and digital transformation

His appointment comes as Graybar deepens its investment in digital platforms. That includes its flagship ecommerce site, Graybar.com, and Graybar Connect. The latter is a portal that gives customers access to real-time order tracking, inventory management, and procurement analytics.

“As Graybar moves forward with our multi-year business transformation, we are investing in artificial intelligence and leading-edge technologies that will shape the way we work and serve our customers,” said Bill Mansfield, senior vice president of strategy and business development. “Ed has an impressive background in distribution, IT, and customer experience that positions him well to lead Graybar’s AI strategy. He will also support the next stages of Graybar Connect and other key initiatives to elevate the customer experience and accelerate our long-term growth.”

Graybar says its ecommerce platform provides around-the-clock access to pricing, availability, and order tracking. That’s available for products is distributes from more than 350 locations across North America. Recent upgrades to its logistics systems have expanded support for same-day shipping and enhanced service for utilities, contractors, and industrial clients.

Headquartered in St. Louis and founded in 1869, Graybar is one of North America’s largest employee-owned distributors, offering electrical, industrial, and communications products, along with supply chain and logistics services for a wide range of sectors.
