LeafLink taps a new CEO to accelerate cannabis ecommerce

LeafLink has named veteran technology executive Ashwin Raj as its new chief executive officer, marking a pivotal leadership change as the company looks to scale its platform and cement its role at the center of the legal cannabis supply chain.

Raj succeeds Artie Minson, who will remain an adviser during the transition. The move underscores LeafLink’s push to expand its B2B marketplace, financial tools, and data-driven technology as the cannabis industry matures and faces heightened competition and regulatory scrutiny.

“Joining LeafLink is more than an opportunity — it’s a chance to help shape the future of a rapidly growing industry,” Raj said in a statement. “Our commitment is to listen to customers, understand their needs, and deliver solutions that truly help them thrive.”

Raj brings more than two decades of experience scaling major technology and commerce platforms. He most recently served as CEO of ezCater, where he led the company’s transformation into an enterprise food platform.

Prior to that, he was executive vice president and head of ridesharing at Lyft, steering the company through its initial public offering, navigating pandemic-era disruptions, and helping achieve profitability.

Raj also held senior leadership roles at Amazon—overseeing third-party seller services for Amazon Pay—and at Visa, where he helped drive the company’s expansion into mobile payments and digital financial services.

In his new role, Raj will be tasked with driving LeafLink’s next phase of growth, including scaling its wholesale cannabis marketplace, building out compliant payment and credit solutions, and deploying advanced data and forecasting tools to improve supply chain efficiency across regulated markets.

“The cannabis industry deserves the same quality of tools and infrastructure as any modern sector,” Minson said. “Under Ashwin’s leadership, LeafLink will continue our partnership with customers, regulators, and financial institutions to deliver solutions that are safe, compliant, and transformational.”

Founded in 2016, LeafLink serves thousands of licensed cannabis brands and retailers across more than 30 markets, offering digital tools for sales, ordering, fulfillment, and financial services.
