Office Depot introduces 15-minute pickup guarantee nationwide

Office Depot is raising the bar on retail fulfillment speed with the launch of its “15-minute pickup promise,” a new nationwide program that guarantees customers can collect online and mobile orders in 15 minutes or receive a $15 coupon toward a future purchase.

The service is available at Office Depot and OfficeMax stores across the country. Customers placing qualifying orders through OfficeDepot.com or the Office Depot mobile app can choose in-store or curbside pickup. Consumers must submit orders at least one hour before the store closes. If the retailer misses the 15-minute window, customers will be compensated with a digital coupon within 72 hours.

Office Depot is the 22nd largest retailer in the Top 2000 Database. The Top 2000 ranks North American online retailers by their annual ecommerce sales and more. Office Depot is also the second-largest in the Office Supplies category, behind Staples.

Why Office Depot is launching 15-minute pickup

The retailer said the initiative is aimed at outpacing competitors, many of which advertise same-day or scheduled pickup but do not guarantee fulfillment within a set timeframe.

“At Office Depot, we’re committed to providing the fastest and easiest shopping experience in the nation for our customers, whether they’re wrapping up back-to-school lists or running their own small business,” said Kevin Moffitt, president of Office Depot, in a statement. “Our 15-Minute Pickup Promise is designed to deliver convenience and peace of mind so that customers can get what they need — when they need it — and focus on what matters most.”

Alongside the new service, Office Depot continues to promote a range of fulfillment and payment options. These include same-day delivery for orders placed before 5 p.m. local time, available for $4.99, and same-day printing for select orders submitted before 2 p.m. The company also offers PayPal’s buy now, pay later (BNPL) option on eligible purchases.

The launch comes as The ODP Corporation, parent of Office Depot, seeks to strengthen its omnichannel model. With a network of retail stores, a growing ecommerce presence, and a business-to-business distribution arm, the company is positioning speed and convenience as key differentiators in a competitive office supplies market.
