DoorDash integration with Shopify to enable on-demand delivery

DoorDash has integrated with Shopify, allowing U.S. merchants with physical stores to list products on the DoorDash marketplace and offer on-demand delivery without separate onboarding.

The integration connects retailers with a third-party, delivery-centered marketplace, expanding their fulfillment reach. DoorDash, Instacart and Uber Eats have been adding retailers to their marketplaces in recent years. In part, their marketplaces allow retailers to facilitate online sales without overseeing those deliveries.

“Merchants want to sell wherever their customers are, and increasingly that means meeting them with speed and convenience,” said Atlee Clark, vice president of partnerships at Shopify. “This integration puts local retailers in front of millions of DoorDash shoppers and turns same-day demand into sales, all managed inside Shopify.”

Currently, more than 100 of the Top 2000 online retailers in North America use Shopify as their ecommerce platform, according to Digital Commerce 360 data. In 2025, the combined web sales of all Top 2000 retailers that used Shopify’s ecommerce platform reached $10.458 billion.

The Top 2000 Database ranks North America’s largest online retailers based on their annual ecommerce sales and more.

DoorDash-Shopify integration enables faster delivery

DoorDash said it is now available as a sales channel inside Shopify’s App Store. That means any Shopify merchant with a physical store in the U.S. can add its product catalog to the DoorDash marketplace. The process does not require retailers to onboard separately or manually upload product catalogs, DoorDash said.

“If it’s in your area, it’s on DoorDash,” said Mike Goldblatt, vice president of enterprise partnerships at DoorDash, in a statement.

That’s the promise driving the integration, he said.

“Local, independent retailers are the heart of local commerce, and they deserve tools that work as hard as they do,” Goldblatt said. “As the first on-demand marketplace that Shopify merchants can activate directly from their existing Shopify Admin, we’re opening the door to retail merchants who can now reach their communities faster than ever.”

The DoorDash integration with Shopify allows retailers to:

  • Keep their existing workflow. Shopify merchants extend their reach to DoorDash consumers without leaving the platform they already use, according to the announcement.
  • Go live in days. The companies said they built self-serve integration onboarding directly into the experience. That cuts setup time from weeks to days, they said.
  • Automatically keep products and inventory in sync. When a customer orders, what’s on DoorDash will match what’s on the shelf, the companies said.

There won’t be duplicate data entry or manual updates when stock changes, according to DoorDash and Shopify. Merchants manage their catalog in Shopify, and it reflects on DoorDash in real time, according to the companies. That keeps products “moving to customers as fast as possible,” they said.
