Sally Beauty, Circana agree on multiyear supply chain solution deal

Texas-based retail operator Sally Beauty Holdings (SBH) has agreed to a multiyear deal with technology provider Circana on a supply chain solution.

In a March 10 announcement, Circana said the strategic partnership focuses on an “advanced technology platform” to improve business-planning capabilities.

Circana said the collaboration includes a “comprehensive” supply chain insights platform that provides daily updates to “critical operational data” for suppliers.

Sally Beauty is No. 322 in the Top 2000 Database. The database tracks North America’s leading online retailers by their annual ecommerce sales and more.

Circana provides technology to consumer packaged goods companies, durables manufacturers and retailers. It said its predictive analytics and technology help its clients to measure market share, understand consumer behavior and accelerate growth.

Sally Beauty and Circana partner on supply chain technology

Circana said it designed its supply chain insights platform to drive improvements for Sally Beauty’s:

  • Service levels
  • Inventory management
  • On-shelf availability across the retailer’s network

In the announcement, Circana said Sally Beauty aims to streamline operations and “foster deeper collaboration.” To do so, Circana said, Sally Beauty plans to integrate supply chain data into a platform that both its internal teams and external partners can use.

“Our collaborative program with Circana will drive top- and bottom-line growth by unlocking opportunities to improve the efficiency of our supply chain and product availability across both our Sally Beauty and BSG businesses,” said Bryan DeYoung, senior vice president of merchandising operations and business services at SBH, in the announcement. “This platform provides us with the tools to integrate our supply chain data seamlessly, creating transparency and stronger alignment with our Sally Beauty and BSG supplier communities.”

Circana said Sally Beauty’s suppliers will gain access to insights that drive incremental sales. Those insights will also help with optimizing day-to-day inventory flow and improve promotion planning, according to Circana.

It said it built the supply chain solution “to facilitate better business programs by providing the visibility needed to drive both top-line and bottom-line growth.”
