The software company Aptean has developed 10 artificial intelligence (AI) agents that are being added to its platform, AppCentral.
In its announcement, the company, which serves manufacturers and distributors, said it designed the new solutions to bring AI to organizations that have not yet migrated to the cloud. Aptean developed its AI agents specifically for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central on-premises customers.
“Partners can now bring AI to every Business Central customer they serve — on premises data stays on-premises, no migration to Business Central online required,” according to the announcement.
Aptean claims that its software helps manufacturers and distributors “effectively run and grow their businesses.” It has made its agents accessible through the “Agent Central” hub within AppCentral.
The software provider also said Aptean manages and updates agents — and that clients can deploy the AI within days.
“Until now, AI in the Microsoft Business Central ecosystem has been an online-only story,” said Bruno Johansson, senior vice president of product and technology, in the announcement. “Aptean’s AI platform, AppCentral, removes that barrier. Partners can walk into any Business Central on-premises conversation — across current and prior versions — and offer something truly transformative. That’s not an incremental opportunity; it’s a new market.”
What Aptean’s AI agents do
The software provider said users can type questions in everyday language and do not require technical experience. AppCentral connects the AI agent directly to a customer’s Business Central environment using pre-built integrations, Aptean said. There is nothing for the customer to build or configure, according to Aptean.
“The agent reads live operational data, performs analysis, and returns clear, actionable recommendations in plain English — all without reimplementation or migration to Business Central online,” according to the announcement. “Partners can deploy the full agent suite for a customer in under a week, unlocking outcomes that were previously impossible without cloud migration or custom development.”
Aptean gave an example that a manufacturer’s quality team can respond to a regulatory inquiry in minutes rather than days. It said that reduces compliance risk and manual effort. In addition, it gave an example of replacing a daily, hours-long material requirements planning analysis with a minutes-long conversation with an AI agent.
Aptean’s provider’s release includes AI agents for:
- Finance
- Quality
- Supply chain
- Sales
- Procurement
- Inventory
- Warehouse
- Production
Aptean said clients can configure up to 20 AI-automated sequences per customer.
