Amazon Business deploys first branded delivery fleet for commercial shipments

Amazon Business is rolling out its first branded delivery fleet tailored to commercial customers.

Its move underscores the growing importance of business-to-business logistics in the company’s broader ecommerce strategy. The trucks now operate in select U.S. markets. Amazon Business has equipped them for deliveries that go well beyond typical doorstep drop-offs. That ranges from palletized industrial equipment to time-sensitive supplies for offices, warehouses and institutional facilities.

Shelley Salomon, vice president of Amazon Business, said the new fleet intends to signal reliability in environments where logistics are part of daily operations.

“When one of these trucks pulls up to a loading dock, office, university or government building, it’s not just about the delivery — it’s about reinforcing the trust our customers have placed with Amazon Business,” she said in a statement.

How Amazon Business is approaching its branded delivery fleet

The company said the vehicles integrate with delivery scheduling tools. Those tools allow customers to coordinate arrivals around receiving hours and facility traffic. And that capability is increasingly critical as Amazon Business targets sectors such as:

  • Higher education
  • Government agencies
  • Industrial operations

Some of the newly branded trucks run on compressed natural gas — part of Amazon’s existing middle-mile fleet. That supports the company’s shift toward lower-emission transportation.

Amazon is also expanding Direct Delivery, a service that consolidates multiple packages into a single truckload to arrive at regular, predictable times. The company said the program can reduce congestion on commercial campuses and streamline unloading, while palletized delivery options are available for customers with dock capacity and equipment.

Clear vehicle branding is intended to help facility teams quickly verify authorized deliveries and coordinate unloading schedules, Amazon said, improving the efficiency of receiving departments that process high-volume shipments.

The company did not provide details on fleet size or expansion plans. However, it said it will add additional markets over time as business demand increases.
